Gilbert Kitchen Remodeling FAQ

Common questions about remodels, cabinets, countertops, permits and living through the work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many weeks should I plan for a Gilbert kitchen remodel?

A full remodel usually runs several weeks of on-site work, and cabinet lead time comes before that. Countertops can't be templated until cabinets are set, so that step adds a short gap. Your written estimate includes a week-by-week schedule.

Does the Town of Gilbert require a permit for a kitchen remodel?

It depends on the scope. The Town of Gilbert issues permits for residential alterations and for electrical, plumbing, gas and mechanical work. Swapping cabinets and counters in place is different from moving a sink or opening a wall, so we confirm your scope with the Town first.

Is it worth remodeling a builder-grade kitchen?

Usually, yes. Many Gilbert kitchens from the 1990s to the 2010s have a good footprint but thin cabinets, tile or laminate counters and a small island. Replacing those, without moving plumbing, often changes the room the most for the work involved.

Can you remodel the kitchen while we keep living there?

Yes, and most families do. We put up dust walls, cover floors and help you set up a temporary sink and microwave area somewhere else in the house.

What Gilbert neighborhoods do you work in?

We remodel kitchens across the Town of Gilbert, including the Heritage District, Agritopia, Val Vista Lakes, Power Ranch, Morrison Ranch and Seville.

Does my Gilbert HOA need to approve a kitchen remodel?

Interior work usually stays inside the house, so many HOAs don't review it. Some do set contractor hours, parking and dumpster rules. Check your HOA's guidelines, and we plan the schedule around them.

Can we stay in the house during a kitchen remodel?

Most Gilbert families do. We seal the work area with dust walls, protect floors, and help you set up a temporary kitchen in the laundry room, garage or dining room.

Do you keep the same footprint or move things around?

Either works. Keeping the sink, range and fridge where they are saves plumbing and electrical work. Moving them makes sense when the current layout really doesn't fit how you cook.

When should I order appliances?

Early. Cabinet widths, panel-ready doors and the range hood all depend on the exact models, so we like to have appliance choices before cabinets are ordered.
